In Miami
"But what the soyjacks forget is that Florida Man used to go by another word - 'man'."
I’m in Miami. I don’t presume that Dissident Muse Journal has the kind of presence that would warrant a Dissident Muse Journal Meetup. But if there was demand anywhere, it would be here. I’m willing. For the record, I’m terrible at arranging social calendars. If I’ve neglected to contact you, please reach out.
I am both visiting family and on assignment. Current plans are to drop in on PAMM, Margulies, Rubell, and Bonnier today, and to do the rounds at Progressive Art Brunch on Sunday. Please suggest others.
I missed a talk last night by Jerry Saltz. That was deliberate.

In Miami
Well, Franklin, I hope your Miami assignment has gone well, or well enough, and that we will hear about it in due course, after it's been duly processed. Hearing about your itinerary reminded me of former times, when I might have made such a tour of local venues, but I'm afraid I can no longer work up the requisite enthusiasm. I suppose I was always "difficult," but now I'm practically impossible.
As for the "Progressive Art Brunch," that sounds like a "New-and-Different Art Brunch," when the only thing that matters is the art's quality as such. If it's not good enough, I couldn't care less how new, different or "progressive" it is. But then again, I'm excluded from many if not most target audiences.
