Hell, real freedom of taste in art is too scary, even for extremely rich, privileged and powerful people who shouldn't give a damn what anybody thinks of their taste. There is opportunism, of course, but there is definitely fear as well, not just of being penalized somehow but also of being "out of it," outmoded, or dismissed as obsolete.
If Leni Riefenstahl were around, she could whip up something suitable for today's Nazis. I suppose calling it "Triumph of the Will" would be too obvious, but it could be called "Triumph of the Woke."
