I've been "there" before as well. Like few other moments in life, it will hold up the clearest of mirrors for us to gaze upon. If we are able to stay "there", it can be more than just a reflection; what it becomes is closer to a window, a glimpse into something more.
As I expect you have already realized, any time spent in meditation in our past all comes to the fore as quite possible the "only" effective tool applicable. Presence is everything, even as many visitors will want to be anything but. That can be our gift too. One being at peace in the room can be like a reassuring lantern in the dark.
Make sure to take breaks, make sure to eat well, to walk, to spend time with friends if any are nearby. And then? Just listen, to the silence especially. Speak what is needed from your heart, listen to what is being said in theirs. Words might be said, but truth does need them. If you can, be the guide during their transition. If that feels too much, just stay present, which is no small thing.
It seems we were endowed with intelligence in order to improve upon nature. But in the end, nature wins. With caring thoughts, Diane.
I know and experienced this.

May you find peace.
Been there, twice. Awful, but it happens. Just do the best you can, which is all you can do.
