Excellent piece my friend, and the line "Thus was born what might be a Gen-X aesthetic, which held that the stuff of art was near at hand and could be employed if you weren’t pretentious about it and had some idea about what you were doing technically." is a real gem! I shared it, and the link to the post, on our RISD 1990-ISH Facebook page.
It was interesting too to hear about the wider circle of creative output that Athens saw from back then, though not surprising once I thought about it.
